Orlandivo - A Chave Do Sucesso [1962 Musidisc] 320 kbps - 70 mb

Hey everyone. Just a quickie to say hello to my page & you. An early one from Orlandivo on the Musidisc label. 1962 is the first wave of Brasilian goodies lapping upon foreign shores. Let's see what all the fuss about this Bossa-Nova Madness is all about? A nice early Bossa spinner. My fav here is track three "Samba Toff". Enjoy!

  1. Very nice post, thanks a bunch! Had no idea he had any albums under his own name this early. I just got hold of an Ed Lincoln album from 1868 (released on SAVOYA records and hence not on the boxset that just came out) that has Orlandivo on percussion. It's pretty swank. Incidentally I have been ranting elsewhere -- I won't be dropping any cash on any more Discobertas reissues, they shabby, sketchy, and doing more harm than good to the musical patrimony. They seem to be buying up backcatalog's for the price of a sandwich to whichever poor souls own the rights -- lets hope they leave Musidisc alone and let someone with higher standards acquire that goldmine!

  2. Thank you for this, I lost my beloved copy when my hard drive crashed. This is a beautiful classic that improves the more you listen.

  4. Hi Jörn, No, not a new rip. This has been sitting on my hard-drive the past 9 years. Glad I remembered it.

  9. Hi Justin!
I'm sorry to say that I've been neglecting your fine blog for quite a while. I've been too busy wading in cool jazz (that's not that far from samba and bossa, right?)
I was listening to Manoel's great album you posted a while ago and remembered what wrote back then about the wonderful quality of the brazilian studios. It's amazing!
Anyway, thanks for this rip. Haven't listened to it yet, though.
